Abstract
A novel active inductor with high quality factor which can be used in the transceivers of wireless applications is presented in this paper. A resistive feedback based cascode double feedback active inductor is proposed. At a frequency of 1.3 GHz the inductor exhibits a Q factor of 21,000 and an inductance of 5.46nH. The post layout analysis of the design is done in UMC 180nm technology using cadence virtuoso. The power consumption of the circuit is 3.37mW at a supply voltage of 1.8V. The active inductor has an area of 0.027mm2. The performance comparison of the proposed active inductor with the basic resistive feedback active inductor is also demonstrated.
