Abstract
ABSTRACT The aim of the study was to evaluate the contamination of the bottled water and bottled soft drinks available on the Polish market by microplastics. The research confirmed that microplastics were found in each sample analyzed, regardless of the type of material from which the packaging was made. More microplastic particles were found in bottled water than in soft drinks. Based on the shapes and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analysis, microplastics present in the samples were mainly secondary contaminants.
