Investigation of mechanical properties of polymer composite material based on polyethylene with Fe2O3 nanoparticles

Abstract
In this work, polymer composite materials based on linear low-density polyethylene and iron oxide nanoparticles were obtained. Nanoparticles of iron oxide were synthesized in plasma discharge under ultrasonic cavitation. When preparing composite materials, the concentration of nanoparticles was varied from 0.5 to 20 wt. %. Measurements of elastic modulus as well as dynamic tests revealed the strong dependence of mechanic properties on the nanoparticle concentration.
