Abstract

The research introduces a miniaturized, high-performance rectangular microstrip patch antenna array specifically engineered for 6G applications. The proposed design features a two-element microstrip array constructed from copper on a 1.6 μm FR-4 substrate, capable of operating at three significant resonant frequencies within the 2-11 THz range: 2.9 THz, 7.56 THz, and 10.23 THz. With a compact footprint of 30 × 48 μm<sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</sup>, the design achieves a 51% reduction in patch size, making it highly suitable for space-constrained environments while maintaining optimal efficiency. The implementation of strategically placed slots and notches yields return loss values of -24.92 dB, -32.06 dB, and -24.89 dB at the respective frequencies, alongside directive gains of 5.67 dBi, 7.49 dBi, and 8.27 dBi, thereby ensuring robust power transmission. Furthermore, the incorporation of an "H"-shaped slot, and notches contribute to the stability of operational parameters, enhancing the antenna's reliability. This multi-band antenna is optimized for the 1-10 THz frequency range, facilitating a range of applications, including ultra-fast 6G communication, security scanning, space exploration, environmental sensing, and high-speed on-chip data transfer. The findings underscore the significant potential of this antenna design for next-generation communication technologies and advanced applications.
