Efficient Bi<sup>3+</sup> to Eu<sup>3+</sup> energy transfer and color tunable emissions in K<sub>7</sub>CaY<sub>2</sub>(B<sub>5</sub>O<sub>10</sub>)<sub>3</sub>-based phosphors

Abstract
An 8% anti-site occupancy of Ca<sup>2+</sup> and Eu<sup>3+</sup> in K<sub>7</sub>CaEu<sub>2</sub>(B<sub>5</sub>O<sub>10</sub>)<sub>3</sub>, and also two sets of Bi<sup>3+</sup> spectra are observed once Bi<sup>3+</sup> is introduced. Color tunable emissions are realized in Bi<sup>3+</sup>/Eu<sup>3+</sup> codoped K<sub>7</sub>CaY<sub>2</sub>(B<sub>5</sub>O<sub>10</sub>)<sub>3</sub> by utilizing the energy transfer.
