Abstract

This chapter provides an overview of healthcare security systems integrated with IoT, discussing fundamentals, applications, benefits, challenges, and considerations for implementation. Secure data transmission, access control, authentication mechanisms, and privacy preservation techniques are needed to ensure a secure ecosystem. The chapter discusses methods for detecting and responding to security threats, such as intrusion detection systems, security information and event management systems and user training and awareness programs. It emphasizes the importance of compliance with relevant regulations and standards to ensure legal and ethical handling of patient data. The study explores future trends and emerging technologies, such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and 5G, and their potential impact on healthcare security.
