Abstract
) with the least sterically demanding ligand tpa demonstrates the highest substrate conversions and ketone selectivities. Preliminary mechanistic data provide evidence in favor of metal complex-mediated rate-limiting benzylic C-H bond cleavage by an electron-deficient oxidant.
