Abstract

Impairment of mitochondrial quality control promotes atrial inflammation and remodeling in diabetes through mtDNA-induced cGAS-STING activation and cardiomyocyte-macrophage communication. Targeting this pathway may offer a novel strategy for AF management in metabolically compromised hearts.
