Z-scan investigation to evaluate the third-order nonlinear optical properties of cauliflower-like VS<sub>2</sub> structures

Abstract

The microstructural characterizations show the control of sheet dimensions and growth of crystal planes. The Z-scan study demonstrates the positive nonlinear <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <mml:mrow class="MJX-TeXAtom-ORD"> <mml:msub> <mml:mi>n</mml:mi> <mml:mn>2</mml:mn> </mml:msub> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> due to the self-focusing effect and the two-photon absorption for nonlinear absorption. These results imply the effect of lateral dimensions of sheets in cauliflower-like structures on nonlinear optical responses.
