Abstract
In the last decade, educational technology has significantly transformed university education, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to review new trends in the use of technological resources and tools in higher education. Methodologically, a literature review of recent studies was conducted, focusing on the implementation of technologies in various academic disciplines and geographical contexts. The results indicate that emerging technologies such as e-learning, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and learning analytics are improving the accessibility and quality of education, although they present challenges such as insufficient infrastructure and lack of continuous teacher training. The discussion highlights that resistance to change and socioeconomic inequalities limit the effective integration of these technologies. To overcome these obstacles, it is crucial to develop policies that encourage innovation and continuous training. In conclusion, educational technology has the potential to significantly improve higher education, but existing barriers need to be addressed to maximize its positive impact.
