Abstract

Due to great resilience and clearness of data outsourcing system like cloud computing many firms and industries are adopting and growing in a fast pace. While, medical sector has always been very slow to adapt the trend. However, many medical sectors have largely established the benefits of cloud computing, and the significant proportion of them have embraced the new technology to fundamentally change their guidelines. These guideline aims to facilitate the adoption of electronic Personal Health Records (PHR) by healthcare providers, which enable patients to manage their health information securely and effectively. PHRs contain highly sensitive patient data, so it is essential that PHR handlers have the flexibility and security to create their own access policies for the data. While modern commercial cloud platforms provide authentication capabilities and encryption features, such as symmetric or public key encryption, the use of symmetric encryption can require significant key management and maintenance efforts. Therefore, a performance evaluation will be conducted.
