The Effect of Partner Support on Self-Efficiency in Breastfeeding in the Early Postpartum Period

Abstract
In early postpartum period, the mother experiences intense physiological and psychological changes. The mother tries to adapt to changes in this period and the role of motherhood. Therefore, the mother needs much support in the first days of the postpartum period. This is a descriptive study which was carried out at a family health care center in Turkey. The sample of the study consisted of 350 mothers between August 2016 and February 2017, determined by power analysis. Breastfeeding efficacy in mothers was positively related to their partner’s level of emotional, social, and physical support.
