Abstract
Using eco-friendly water-based <italic>in situ</italic> sprouting, 2M (M = Ni, Co) selenide nanosheets are fabricated. The 2M selenide exhibits high HER (24 mV at <italic>j</italic><sub>10</sub>) and OER (346 mV at <italic>j</italic><sub>400</sub>) performances, including a low cell overpotential of 1.69 V at <italic>j</italic><sub>100</sub>.
