Abstract

To mitigate parameter sensitivity of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) under the model predictive control (MPC), a simple motor-parameter-free model predictive voltage control (SMPF-MPVC) is proposed in this article. First, a brief overview of the conventional MPVC is presented, followed by an analysis of the consequences arising from parameter mismatch within the system. Subsequently, an incremental model is established to eliminate the effects of flux-linkage and resistance mismatch. Furthermore, an integral controller is designed to remove the effects caused by inductance mismatch. As a result, a voltage prediction model is established independent of any motor parameters, fundamentally eliminating the influences of motor parameters mismatch on MPVC. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed SMPF-MPVC method is verified on a 1.25 kW experimental platform.
