Abstract
Introduction: Obesity in children and adolescents is a health problem that has generated a high degree of concern, since this can lead to the development of countless cardio-metabolic diseases in adulthood and present serious complications. Objectives: To determine the incidence of risk factors and causative factors in the development of obesity in children and adolescents worldwide. Methodology: Qualitative approach, non-experimental longitudinal cut, techniques and instruments for data collection were search sites such as Google Scholar, Scielo digital magazine, Elsevier digital magazine, data published by the World Health Organization, Medline Plus, PubMed. Results: Obesity in infants and adolescents is manifested as a consequence of the following factors: biological sex, people without a family history and the diet they handle daily, daily consumption as a risk factor for obesity in children and adolescents with a 57.2 % in fast food consumed once a day, annexed to age groups, biological sex, family history. Conclusion: The risk factors and causes of obesity that lead to obesity are inappropriate lifestyles, such as eating an unbalanced diet and lack of physical exercise, social, economic and family conditions.
