Abstract

NISAR is an L-band and S-band 12-day repeat-pass InSAR Indo-US collaborative mission, currently scheduled for launch in 2023. NISAR will serve as an unprecedented resource for the science and applications community. Currently, the satellite is undergoing L-band and S-band SAR integration and testing at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, while the post-launch calibration plan and science plan for the mission is being readied. In this paper, we provide a broad overview of mission characteristics, science objectives, observation plan, post launch calibration and validation plan, data products and dissemination plan and efforts to engage science and applications community for optimum utilization of NISAR data.
