Abstract
Donor-Acceptor Stenhouse Adducts: a novel type of photoswitchable compounds that consist of donors, acceptors, and trienol-enol bridges, have gained great attention for their unique light responsive properties. In this review, we summarized the development and applications of DASAs. It covers three parts: (1) typical synthesis routes toward different DASAs; (2) mechanism for photo-switchable isomerization; (3) applications in polymers and materials science. We also point out future trends in this field of DASAs based materials.
