Fibre type identification based on power profile estimation

Abstract
We developed a technique to identify fibre type based on power profile estimation using coherent receivers. With the proposed method, SSMF and NZ-DSF were successfully identified in 96GBd DP-16QAM signal, 9-span transmission testbed.
