Abstract

Two novel meso -CF 3 BODIPY-based fluorescent rotors are rationally prepared and sensitively respond to cellular viscosity through restricted rotation of meso -CF 3 group. The monostyryl one (2) exhibits good mitochondrial localization and AIE property.
