Signatures of hidden octupolar order from nonlinear Hall effects

Abstract
Discovering long-range hidden orders is a long-standing challenge in the field of unconventional magnetism. Such type of order is elusive to conventional magnetic probes. Here, focusing on the archetypal ferro-octupolar ordering in metallic heavy-fermion compounds, the authors demonstrate through a combination of semiclassical transport and general symmetry analysis that nonlinear Hall transport is the dominant experimental signature.
