Abstract

A Schiff base fluorescent probe, namely naphthalic anhydride – (2-pyridine) hydrazone (<bold>NAH)</bold>, has been synthesized and developed for the highly selective and sensitive monitoring of Fe<sup>3+</sup> ions in an aqueous solution and living cells.
