Artisanal and small-scale gold mining governance and cross-sectoral policy coherence in Ghana
Enoch Adranyi, Lindsay C. Stringer, Henrice Altink
Abstract
• ASGM crosscuts multiple sectors needing integrated governance with its value chain. • Study finds ASGM governance is not truly decentralised across the different sectors. • Coherence between mining policy and other mining-sensitive policies is ‘partial’. • ASGM is facing limited intersectoral coordination and ineffective monitoring. • Governments need to establish cross-sectoral planning and implementation processes.
