Abstract
Abstract Ruthenium(II)‐catalyzed switchable ortho functionalization of 1‐arylpyrazoles with maleimides is developed in this study. This divergent reaction proceeds via five‐membered ruthenacycle formation and selectively installs diverse succinimides and maleimides substituents on the aromatic ring of 1‐arylpyrazoles through alkylation and alkenylation under acidic and basic conditions. This methodology features broad substrate scope, high functional group tolerance, selective functionalization, and superior reactivity.
