Abstract

The role of porous piezoelectric materials is very crucial in modern days, especially in designing underwater object detection devices. Therefore, the present article deals with SH-wave propagation in a porous piezoelectric layer sandwiched between an upper mechanically bonded porous layer and lower mechanically and electrically bonded piezoelectric layer. Bonding parameters have been considered to describe the effect of electrical and mechanical imperfections on the interface. The effect of thickness ratio, electro-mechanical bonding parameters on phase velocity are studied extensively. The imperfections at interfaces reduces phase velocity of SH-wave. The influence is found significant when large imperfections persist at the interface.
