Abstract

Mechanoluminescence peaked at 355 nm (Bi 3+ : 3 P 1 → 1 S 0 ) was observed in an orthorhombic phase compound of LiYGeO 4 :Bi 3+ , which has widened the mechanoluminescence spectral wavelength into UV range.
