CO<sub>2</sub> catalyzed recycling of polyester and polycarbonate plastics

Abstract
CO 2 was found to be an efficient catalyst for depolymerizing common waste polyesters and polycarbonates via alcoholysis, yielding valuable organic molecules. CO 2 was considered a Lewis acid–base pair, activating both polymers and alcohol.
