Abstract

This paper provides a comprehensive examination of conical solar stills, with a specific emphasis on their performance, design considerations, and different factors that can improve their efficiency. Solar stills are a highly efficient method of utilizing solar energy to purify and desalinate water. The conical solar still, specifically, displays distinctive attributes and presents opportunities for enhancing water output. This study provides a thorough analysis of the current research on conical solar stills, emphasizing the significant discoveries, research approaches, and progress made in this field. Moreover, it discerns deficiencies in knowledge, puts out potential study avenues, and recommends places for additional improvements. The results of this analysis will aid in the creation of effective and enduring solar still blueprints to tackle the worldwide issue of water scarcity. This research is innovative in its full examination of design optimization methodologies and exploration of parameters that can improve conical solar still water production. The major findings highlight the significant advantages of conical solar stills in terms of efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Their unique design features, such as conical shapes, internal and external reflectors, and phase change materials, significantly enhance their performance compared to traditional solar stills. The optimization of design parameters, including inclination angles and aspect ratios, further boosts their productivity, ensuring maximum utilization of solar energy.
