Abstract
<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual male <ns3:italic>Cetonia aurata</ns3:italic> (the Rose Chafer; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Scarabaeidae). The genome sequence is 479.6 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 11 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X and Y sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 20.85 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 12,621 protein coding genes. Species taxonomy. Eukaryota; Metazoa; Eumetazoa; Bilateria; Protostomia; Ecdysozoa; Panarthropoda; Arthropoda; Mandibulata; Pancrustacea; Hexapoda; Insecta; Dicondylia; Pterygota; Neoptera; Endopterygota; Coleoptera; Polyphaga; Scarabaeiformia; Scarabaeoidea; Scarabaeidae; Cetoniinae; <ns3:italic>Cetonia</ns3:italic> ; <ns3:italic>Cetonia aurata</ns3:italic> (Linnaeus, 1758) (NCBI: txid290679). </ns3:p>
