Abstract
Online monitoring of battery impedance is of increasing interest as it brings rich information for battery state estimation and fault diagnosis, however, the existing techniques are limited by high implementation costs and poor accuracy. This letter addresses the challenges by proposing a novel two-stage optimization framework to form a binary sequence with the optimal power proportion in specified harmonics for fast battery impedance measurements. The optimized binary sequence with finite amplitude levels can greatly simplify the implementation, and also the optimized power spectrum has superb accuracy to obtain the frequency responses. Experimental studies confirm the superiority of the proposed method in comparison with three existing techniques under various circumstances.
