Abstract

and, in turn, the L-carnitine maximal transport capacity. Because of the antilipogenic and antioxidant features of L-carnitine, the stimulatory effect of cholesterol on L-carnitine uptake might represent a novel protective effect against lipid-induced toxicity and oxidative stress.
