Abstract

The FORMERLY-Math package is designed for the form-finding of compressed or tensile membranes in Mathematica. The package allows for the calculation of the actual load of a structure based on a defined reference surface obtained through a form-finding procedure or assigned by the user. With the constraint of minimizing the distance between the reference surface and the new structure, FORMERLY-Math performs form-finding of the new structure. One of the key advantages of this code is that it operates on continuous surfaces and automatically derives eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the obtained surface, providing fundamental data for structure realization.
