Abstract

This paper focused on calculating where model independence ends for the scaling relations relating the spin-independent elastic-scattering cross sections of dark matter (m 1 GeV) between different nuclei. We also made some broader statements about regions of parameter space that are ruled out on theoretical grounds for pointlike dark matter. In the main text, these statements are accompanied by appropriate caveats; however, in some places-mostly the abstract, introduction, and conclusions-the caveats were not always present in isolated passages. In this erratum, we note some of those missing caveats more explicitly. None of our main results or conclusions are affected.
