Abstract

Abstract Greenhouse gas Carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emission has attracted world‐wide attention and urgent actions are needed to reduce the impact of CO 2 on the climate change challenge. Photocatalytic CO 2 reduction reaction (CO 2 RR) is regarded as a promising way for utilizing CO 2 as a feedstock to produce value‐added chemicals driven by sustainable solar energy. Efficient photocatalysts are crucially important for achieving high performance CO 2 RR. Taking the advantages of hollow structure in light harvesting, large surface area and ability to enrich the local CO 2 concentration, the hollow photocatalysts have demonstrated their great potential for photocatalytic CO 2 RR. Herein, we provide a concise overview on the mechanism, state‐of‐the‐art advances and future perspective in hollow structured photocatalysts for photocatalytic CO 2 RR.
