Abstract

In general vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) is highly dynamic in nature because of its huge mobility among the vehicles. N number of routing protocols is used in the process of path setting and optimal path finding to transfer the data from the source to the destination. The one among the common reactive routing protocol is Adhoc On-demand routing protocol (AODV) which is used to transfer the packet request to the hop nodes and then the receiver nodes will forward to reply. This process is used to find the path from the source to the destination. But this is not suitable for the network like VANET with huge mobility. So that's why in our research we introduced a Hybrid ANT based Continuous Cuckoo search optimization algorithm (HACC) in AODV routing protocol. Here HACC is applied to all the nodes at the initial stage to achieve better performance. The optimal path is chosen by using this method which leads to reduce the congestion and energy consumption in the network. For the process of simulation, Network Simulator NS2 is used and the results are compared with the earlier works such as AODV and ACO-AODV. The performance is analyzed by calculating the parameters such as network throughput, packet success ratio and end to end delay of the network.
