How sustainable is CO2 conversion to ethanol? – A life cycle assessment of a new electrocatalytic carbon utilisation process
Daniel Rojas Sánchez, Kaveh Khalilpour, Andrew Hoadley
Abstract
This life cycle assessment shows that producing ethanol by the electrochemical conversion of CO 2 is a promising carbon capture and utilisation pathway that bears potential environmental benefits compared to the traditional fermentation of crops.
