Abstract
In this letter, a new model to represent power system inertia distribution is derived first. Then, a specific online identification method is proposed to identify parameters of the model under normal operating conditions so that the system inertia distribution can be tracked in real-time. The effectiveness of the proposed model and identification method is validated in the IEEE 39-bus system.
