Abstract

This article introduces a novel Graded Index lens that consists of four sections made of anisotropic engineered materials. The lens is specifically designed to convert the polarization of the incoming electromagnetic wave from linear to circular polarization. This unique design enables the integration of the lens and polarizer within the same structure, resulting in a reduction in the overall size typically required when combining these two components separately. The polarizer lens is manufactured using low-loss dielectric filaments, ensuring efficient polarization conversion with low losses. Measurement results validate the focusing and polarizing capabilities of this innovative lens. The experimental data confirm that the proposed topology effectively achieves both objectives, demonstrating its potential for practical applications.
