Abstract
Abstract A broad range of microorganisms produce biosurfactants, which are surface‐active compounds. They are molecules with both hydrophilic and hydrophobic domains that can lower the growth medium's surface tension and interfacial tension. Since they are nontoxic and biodegradable, biosurfactants can be used as a green substitute in various situations. Biosurfactants are also primarily used in the pharmaceutical and oil sectors, as well as in pollutant bioremediation. Aside from these, biosurfactants can be used in a wide range of food and agriculture industries, cosmetics, and skincare products. We sincerely hope that this review will help to understand the different applications of biosurfactants and their future potential.
