Abstract

Gallaphosphene 1 reacts with a series of polar X–H bonds exclusively with 1,2 addition to the Ga–P double bond. The gallium atom serve as electrophile whereas the nucleophilic phosphorous atom is protonated by the H-acidic substrates.
