Abstract
Tunable localized surface plasmon resonance in quasi-metallic W<sub>18</sub>O<sub>49</sub> was achieved by morphology control and the urchin-like nanospheres showed blue-shifted extinction as well as enhanced photoreduction properties towards Cr(<sc>vi</sc>).
