Abstract
A Cd-MOF with <italic>ca.</italic> 43% solvent-accessible volume, synthesized starting from a rationally-designed tetraacid linker (<bold>Cd-BBI</bold>) based on a bisimidazole featuring concave shapes, serves for efficient sensing of hazardous biogenic polyamines, <italic>e.g.</italic>, spermine, by ‘turn-off’ fluorescence quenching.
