Comparative Analysis of Empirical Research on Agile Software Development Approaches

Abstract

More complex software solutions are in greater demand in today's software business due to the convergence of evolving technology and ever-changing consumer expectations. Because they offer early software delivery and high-quality software products, agile-based software development approaches are gradually gaining acceptance among software practitioners. Agile approaches also allow teams to react quickly to changes in user needs, which makes it easier for them to be integrated into the method of progressing software. The justification of the article is to expressing the significance, benefits, and increasing adoption of Agile approaches in light of the complex and ever-changing software requirements of today. The main goal of this study is to empirically examine how the three most popular Agile approaches-Scrum, extreme programming (XP), & Kanban-are chosen. It also provides a comparison analysis of these agile developing software methodologies. Our poll results show that Scrum is the most popular and frequently used methodology in the software industry today, outperforming both the extreme programming approaches and Kanban. A succinct comparison between agile development approaches and conventional systems development methodologies is presented in the study. It also explores the state of adoption of agile approach at the moment. It makes the argument that the need to please customers by delivering valuable software early and often has given rise to an alternative to traditional plan-based software development approaches is agile software development. The study aims to give a comprehensive grasp of the notable advantages of the agile methodological strategy for the software development sector in addition to comparing Agile Software Development Paradigms (ASDM) with Traditionally Systems Development Methodologies (TSDM).
