Abstract

This paper discusses the digital simulation of the photovoltaic (PV) system to emulate the buck converter's fuzzy logic control. A PV emulator is a DC-DC converter (in this case a buck converter) with the same electrical features as a panel in PV. In an environment where the actual PV systems can produce incoherent results, due to the variability in weather, the emulator helps to analyse PV systems realistically. The paper describes the use of dynamic process control fluid algorithms. The entire system is designed in a software package of MATLAB® Simulink SimPowerSystem. The simulation studies show results and discuss the constant state and dynamic stability of the PV emulator system.
