Abstract
Blockchain technology has emerged as a groundbreaking database mechanism, which offers transparency and security to information sharing across networks. “Chain Checkmate” leverages the potency of blockchain to chronicle every move and outcome securely and unalterably. In our project aimed at elevating the prominence of chess as a competitive sport, the existing online chess game platform faces limitations such as the incapacity for players to communicate during matches, a lack of token-based rewards, and the potential for unauthorized alterations in the game. These limitations highlight the importance of considering a blockchain-based solution. The main challenge in this project is to create an online chess blockchain platform that addresses the key challenges of data security, trust, and game record management. By presenting chess pieces on the blockchain as NFTs, the project ensures security and transparency of the game records. Additionally, smart contracts are employed to streamline and enhance the efficiency of the chess game. This project also places emphasis on promoting fair play by applying blockchain’s unchangeable nature to thwart cheating and fraudulent activities in online chess games. Through decentralized storage of game data and transparent verification processes, players can have confidence in the legitimacy of their opponents’ moves and game results. Furthermore, the platform fosters a global chess network by enabling cross-border participation and incentives for players, fostering a more robust sense of community within the chess ecosystem. By implementing blockchain’s decentralized ledger and smart contracts, the project aims to revolutionize not only the way chess games are played and recorded but also how players interact and engage with each other. This innovative approach brings a new level of trust and fairness to online chess, ultimately strengthening the global chess community and encouraging broader participation in this timeless and strategic game.
