Abstract

The main contribution of the paper is to present the IT background for an Internet-based motion control system, which is also connected to the university e-Learning system. This allows for flexible integration into online courses, and the tasks performed by students can be monitored and evaluated. Mechatronics is complex field, and it is very difficult for first-year students to learn this approach. In the case of senior students, the practical implementation of the knowledge they have already acquired must be presented alongside the transfer of new knowledge. According to this, the system allows the implementation of open and closed control tasks ranging from setting constant or variable torque, PID and optimal state space control to robust sliding mode control. The developed system can be used in education for more than 5 years of bachelor and master studies and meets the challenges of modern engineering education in the 21st century.
