Abstract

A metal-free and efficient visible-light induced cascade cyclization of alkyne-tethered cyclohexadienones with selenosulfonates for the synthesis of 3-sulfonyl-5-selanyl-4a,5-dihydro-2H-chromen-6(8aH)-one in good to excellent yields has been developed, in which three new stereocenters are formed and both sulfone and selenyl groups are simultaneously introduced.
