Abstract
Quinoline heterocycles have been considered important structures due to their diverse applications in organic synthesis, coordination chemistry, as well as in the fields of drug design and development. Consequently, many researchers around the globe have focused on the production of these molecules as objective lead compounds and exploit their biological activities. Herein, the presented review provides an overview of anticancer agents and natural sources of quinolines and includes a summary of marketed drugs. Advanced synthetic analogs of quinoline derivatives and their anticancer activity have been provided.
