Course-keeping ability of heavy transport units with an arbitrary number of links

Abstract
In this work, the author considered the task of studying the course-keeping ability of multi-part road trains, determining its main criteria and parameters. Course stability is the ability of the car to keep the necessary course of vehicle movement at a specified angle of rotation of the wheels. The relevance of the problem is that for heavy transport aggregates, oscillatory stability may be associated with unacceptable lateral displacements of the car after the start of excitation. In this sense, the speed u can be considered “quasicritic”, its excess is undesirable, as well as the exceeding critical speed. At the same time, it was found that in the case of passenger cars, this issue has been resolved for a long time. As a result of the work, an expression is presented to determine the critical speed of the road train with an arbitrary number of links.
