Abstract

In this paper, we address the problem of placing the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in an area covered by a congested or damaged base station (BS). We aim to cover the affected users while maximizing the operator's profit. We proposed to adopt the k-means method associated with the pattern search technique to find the optimal UAVs 3D locations. We show in the simulations, that our approach achieves higher profit and a higher load balancing index among UAVs.
