Abstract
Abstract Corrosion of mild steel in 2.0 M HCl was investigated in the presence of various concentration of methanolic extract of Spilanthes uliginosa leaves. Inhibition efficiency was evaluated by gravimetric and electrochemical methods and was found to increase with increase in concentration of the extract. The results showed that inhibitive actions of the extract occurred as a result of adsorption of molecular constituents of the leave extract on mild steel in acidic medium. Potentiodynamic polarization results confirmed that the extract act as mixed‐type inhibitor.
